Handthrown by Mutsumi Ohashi in Yatsugatake, Yamanashi prefecture
The lid, once chipped, has been lovingly repaired using the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi, with real lacquer and silver. This technique celebrates imperfections, transforming the piece into something even more meaningful and unique.

Mutsumi Ohashi uses traditional wood firing methods to create organic looking yet sophisticated ceramics. Based in Yatsugatake, a beautiful countryside, Ohashi has been living with and learning from the forest. Using locally supplied red pine wood for firing as well as creating his own clay by mixing many different clays, this gives his pottery a textured character and natural look.
