Kazumi & Kenta Sato Ceramic Exhibition
2026 Mar 21st - 29th

About the Artists
Nestled deep in the serene forests of the Kasama region, Kazumi and Kenta Sato have built not only their home but also their creative sanctuary by hand. Their peaceful surroundings inspire their ceramics, with earthy, stone-like textures brought to life through a meticulous glazing process of layering ten or more coats of mud glaze.
Kazumi’s work: Sleek, elegant, and imbued with a distinctly feminine touch.
Kenta’s pieces: Bold, strong, and full of masculine character.
Together, their contrasting styles blend harmoniously, resulting in timeless creations that reflect both strength and refinement.

Tea Bowls by Kenta Sato
Kenta Sato’s handcrafted tea bowls are more than just functional pieces of pottery – they are works of art, born from time, patience, and a deep respect for tradition.
Each tea bowl takes months to complete, thanks to Kenta’s meticulous glazing technique. Layer by layer, thin coats of mud glaze are applied by hand and left to dry naturally before the next is added. This slow and deliberate process can involve more than ten layers, giving the tea bowl its distinctive, earthy, stone-like texture.
The result is a tea bowl that feels alive – bold, strong, and full of character.

Plates & Bowls
Functional yet artistic, the plates and bowls by Kazumi and Kenta Sato are designed for everyday use or special occasions. With their balanced proportions and subtle details, these pieces seamlessly combine elegance and practicality, perfect for showcasing your culinary creations.
